Filtered Categories

Filtered categories can be used to block ads based on specific topics or categories.

This is a nice feature for publishers that do not want to manually block each url in their competitive ad filter. You can block all ads related to specific industries quickly.

You are given a chance to review some stats on each category before filtering. The stats for each category include percentage % of recent ad impressions, and percentage % of recent earnings.

So for example, you may see weight loss ads with 3.7% of your recent ad impressions, and they account for only %0.2 of your recent earnings. These ads may be worth filtering. You can test one category at a time, or you can simply filter all ads you don’t want to see all at once.

• Ringtones & Downloadables
• Sexual & Reproductive Health
• Sexually Suggestive

If maximizing adsense earnings is your main goal, you should only filter 1-3 ads at a time in order to test revenue gain or loss.

If you would like to block an ad category because you feel it hurts your site’s trustworthiness, then by all means filter away!
